The Whimsy Machines Jeff V2 is a Muff-style fuzz - but not as you know it! For a start, the JFET gives this some beautiful amp-like overdriven sounds, but it can get incredibly Muffy too.
In case you were wondering, Jeff stands for "JFET Big Muff". The V2 builds on the first version with some truly unique features. There's a switchable pre-amp oscillation control, a clipping boost, and a Sweep control to focus your EQ.
Volume controls the output level.
Fuzz controls the clipping intensity.
The pre-amp stage has been replaced by a higher gain circuit in Jeff V2, with a switch to enable oscillation - or disable stability, depending on how you view things! When you activate the Oscillate Enable switch, you'll access some really organic (and pretty crazy) sounds.
The Clipping Boost toggle activates a high frequency boost of the JFET and silicon clipping stages, which pushes the gain and crunches things up beautifully.
The Low and High controls allow you to cut or boost the relevant bands of the 2-stage gyrator-based EQ.
The Sweep control allows you to dial in a frequency-specific boost, allowing you to turn the Muff into a mids-forward fuzz if that's your thing.
