FORMULA B Vintage Vibe Mk2

£199.00

So Addictive!

The Formula B Vintage Vibe Mk2 is a superb homage to the original 'Leslie-in-a-pedal', the Uni-Vibe. It's one of those memorable and highly addictive effects, up there with fuzz in terms of the character it endows songs with.

Most famously used by Jimi Hendrix during his Woodstock set and live Band Of Gypsys album, as well as by David Gilmour on Pink Floyd tracks such as 'Breathe', and Robin Trower on his Bridge Of Sighs album, the Uni-Vibe is all over late-1960s and early '70s rock.

The Formula B Vintage Vibe Mk2 sounds phenomenal with its fully discrete, analogue signal path. Made with original THT BC549 and 2Sc1815 transistors and quality photoresistors, plus an internal voltage doubler giving 18V of power, this is capable of achieving seriously chewy, organic chorus and vibrato effects with plenty of headroom.

Like the original, the Vintage Vibe Mk2 has a Volume control that allows you to achieve unity gain with the rest of your setup. You can even use it to boost your amp or other pedals - there's plenty of volume gain on tap.

Chorus/Vibrato toggle

With the toggle in the Chorus position you get the full Uni-Vibe experience. With the toggle in the Vibrato position you get out of tune pitch-bend vibrato.

Dual footswitch

The dual-footswitch design allows you to set Speed 1 and Speed 2 and access them on-the-fly. A typical setup would be to use a slower speed for rhythm playing then kick in a faster speed for solos.

Features:

  • Analogue chorus/vibrato based on the Uni-Vibe
  • Dual-speed operation with two separate footswitches
  • Old-stock transistors and high quality photoresistors
  • 9V to 18V internal voltage doubler
  • Power: 9V power adaptor, centre-negative (not included)
  • Current draw: 100-150mA

FORMULA B Fuzz Rangers

£175.00

Legendary Boost & Fuzz In One Pedal!

The Formula B Fuzz Rangers takes two iconic circuits and encloses them in a beautifully finished chassis, with vintage-style controls. With the option to run the Fuzz or Boost independently, it's an incredibly flexible pedal for your pedalboard, but where it gets interesting is that there's a toggle to set the direction of the signal. You can choose whether to run the Boost into the Fuzz, or vice-versa. The results differ dramatically...

Fuzz

The Fuzz circuit is based on the silicon Fuzz Face, using a pair of NOS military-spec BC108 transistors and carbon-layer resistors. It sounds great on its own, and reacts really nicely to your guitar's volume pot - as Fuzz Faces do. Running the Fuzz into the Boost gets you a clearer tone with plenty of gain to push your amp, showcasing all that lovely Fuzz Face breakup.

Boost

The Boost circuit is based on the Dallas Rangemaster Treble Booster, with silicon BC549 transistors to reduce compatibility problems (polarity, power etc) with the Fuzz circuit. Uniquely, there's a toggle switch to shift the Boost emphasis between Low, Mid and High frequencies, making it more flexible than a traditional Rangemaster. Running the Boost into the Fuzz saturates the input of the Fuzz Face and gets you a rich, warm, super-fuzzy character which responds well to how you set the EQ toggle.

More than simply for fans of Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, this pedal will serve you well with its vintage vibe and tonal flexibility.

Features:

  • Dual-channel pedal with independent Fuzz and Boost circuits.
  • NOS BC108 transistors and carbon-layer resistors on the Fuzz side.
  • Silicon-based Rangemaster circuit on the Boost side for greater compatibility with the Fuzz.
  • Effects Order toggle switch enables you to run the Fuzz into the Boost, or the Boost into the Fuzz when both channels are activated.
  • EQ toggle allows you to emphasise Low, Mid or High frequencies on the Boost side.
  • Handmade in Todi, Italy
  • Fuzz, Level, Boost, EQ toggle & Effects Order toggle controls
  • Power: 9V power supply, centre-negative (not included)
  • Current draw: 10mA

FORMULA B Super Plexi V

£160.00

The Essence of the '60s...

If you hadn't guessed it already, the Formula B Super Plexi V (for "Vertical" - they also do a horizontal version) is based on the Marshall JTM45 "Plexi", with an additional Boost channel thrown in for good measure, capturing the sound of many legendary players from the 1960s onwards.

Effects Order

The Super Plexi V uses a rare Fairchild J201 MOSFET for beautifully warm, responsive tube-like tone. Like the Formula B Fuzz Rangers, there's a toggle to set whether the Boost comes before or after, giving you extra control of your sound - and more options to set your tone on fire!

Boost

The Boost channel on its own gives you plenty of gain to push your amp onto overdrive, but this pedal really comes alive when you partner it with the Plexi channel. Run the Boost before the Plexi for lovely saturation and density; run the Boost after the Plexi to increase the volume and gun your amp's power tubes.

Features:

  • Dual channel "Marshall-in-a-box" pedal with independent Boost and Plexi channels
  • Featuring a rare Fairchild J201 MOSFET for responsive tube-like tone
  • Effects Order toggle switch enables you to run the Boost into the Plexi, or the Plexi into the Boost when both channels are activated
  • Handmade in Todi, Italy
  • Level, Gain, Tone, Boost & Effects Order toggle controls
  • Power: 9V power supply, centre-negative (not included)
  • Current draw: 10mA

STOMPNORTH Midgie Booster Overdrive

£180.00

Workhorse MOSFET Boost...

The Stompnorth Midgie Booster Overdrive is built around a MOSFET transistor, known for their amp-like feel and here offering over 20dB of boost.

With selectable silicon or germanium diode clipping, this is a serious workhorse pedal getting you from boosted cleans to vintage crunch.

Clipping

The Silicon mode gives a more aggressive bite with good response, while the Germanium mode gives a "saggier" feel with plenty of vintage mojo. Combined with the MOSFET stage, the clipping section gives this drive a multi-dimensional quality that needs to be heard to be believed.

The Midgie Booster Overdrive is handwired point-to-point and features high quality components, including Alpha pots and the large Jupiter capacitor which takes pride of place.

This is a superb, super-stackable pedal which works really well in tandem with other pedals. Oh, and the power indicator glows to showcase several of the finest Inner Hebrides midges, personally collected by Stompnorth founder, Duncan!

Features:

  • Flexible boost/overdrive pedal with silicon and germanium clipping
  • Volume, Gain, Overdrive & Boost toggle Controls
  • High quality components
  • Made in Scotland
  • Power: 9V power adaptor, centre-negative (not included)

STOMPNORTH Clipshear Getter Drive

£199.00

Bringing Valve Power to Your Pedalboard!

Stompnorth's flagship pedal combines MOSFET transistor, valve, and silicon and germanium diodes to achieve a multitude of low to mid-gain tones.

Stompnorth founder Duncan MacKinnon designed the Clipshear Getter Drive to be an integral part of your rig, an "always on" pedal that enhances your core tone. It provides up to 21dB of boost that can push the input of your valve amp, with an addictive and characterful analogue character courtesy of the MOSFET.

Controls

The Gain control adjusts the amount of gain the MOSFET produces, which is then fed into the pre-amplification circuit of the valve. You can achieve deliciously organic overdrive - MOSFETs are known for their amp-like qualities - in combination with the Volume control.

The Valve control adds gain to the valve signal path, which produces an amazingly responsive and warm character ranging from subtle boost to sweet overdrive and flat-out saturation. Used in tandem with the Gain control, you can achieve tons of sustain and a thick overdrive sound.

The Si/Ge/Off toggle switch gives you two different flavours of diode clipping. The Silicon setting adds an aggressive, precise punch with plenty of sizzle, while the Germanium diode is quieter, much more spongy, and can achieve tons of saturation.

There's enough headroom in the Clipshear Getter Drive to experiment with rolling back your guitar's volume to further expand the range of available textures.

The Stompnorth Clipshear Getter Drive is handmade in Scotland from the highest quality components. It's the perfect pedal if you're after superb translation of your core tone for low to mid-gain purposes.

Features:

  • Valve drive with silicon and germanium diode clipping
  • Up to 21dB of gain
  • Highest quality components, including Jupiter capacitor
  • Gain, Volume, Valve, Si/Ge/Off controls
  • Handmade in Scotland
  • Power: 9V power adaptor (min 100mA), centre-negative (not included)

TATE FX Raise The Dead BGP Limited Edition

£170.00

2-Stage Raise The Dead...

Boost Guitar Pedals has commissioned Tate FX to build a limited run of Tate FX Raise The Dead fuzz pedals with a unique switchable second gain stage.

With the toggle switch in the 'Up' state, the pedal runs as the original Raise The Dead - a silicon transistor fuzz that can get pretty aggressive. But on this BGP Limited Edition, switch the toggle to the 'Down' position and hand-selected germanium transistors come into play, making the sound softer, warmer and harmonically rich, providing a spongier feel for the player and a useful alternative tone to the silicon of the base model.

The Tate FX Raise The Dead BGP Limited Edition is exclusive to Boost Guitar Pedals, with just a handful of units built in the initial run: you won't find these anywhere else!

Founder Stuart is a stickler for attention to detail, and he has gone all out with the components for this pedal. A small input transformer simulates the inductance and resistance from a guitar pickup to allow this pedal to work perfectly anywhere in a signal chain - particularly after buffered pedals.

Specially selected transistors, 1% metal film resistors and the some of the best capacitors on the market all combine to make this an incredible sounding hybrid silicon and germanium fuzz. It has tons of gain on tap and good bass response, so use that dial with care!

Features:

  • Single-dial silicon/germanium switchable hybrid fuzz pedal
  • Switchable NOS germanium stage
  • Super-high quality components
  • Exclusive to Boost Guitar Pedals
  • Handmade in the UK

STOMPNORTH Bass Midgie Overdrive

£185.00

Every Bassist Needs A Drive Pedal!

The bass-tuned Stompnorth Bass Midgie Overdrive is in similar tonal territory to the Electro-Harmonix Bass Muff - but that's where the similarities end...

Its handwired point-to-point circuit is built around a single Darlington transistor and symmetrical silicon diodes.

This is a great pedal to enhance your bass tone and get it growling. Use the toggle to switch between silicon diode clipping and "Fauzz" (faux fuzz derived from transistor feedback) to get your preferred flavour of drive tone.

The power indicator features several Inner Hebrides midges, personally collected by Stompnorth founder, Duncan! They won't bite, but this pedal will.

Features:

  • Handwired point-to-point bass overdrive
  • Made in Scotland
  • Select from silicon or 'fauzz' tones
  • Volume, Gain, OD & Si/Fauzz controls
  • Power: 9V centre-negative (not included)

RED NOISE Stone Blender

£210.00

Sounds As Good As It Looks!

The Red Noise Stone Blender is a modern take on the Sola Sound Tone Bender, one of the most famous names in the world of fuzz pedals.

But far from being a one-trick pony, the Stone Blender features a neat 4-way Diode Switch which lets you select one of four different clipping diodes for diverse voicing options:

1N60 (Green) - Purry, germanium overdrive-like fuzz, offering oodles of saturation and crunch.

1N4148 (Red) - Sizzling up top while punching you in the gut, this is the MkIV Sola Sound Tone Bender sound - a classic fuzz tone.

Yellow LED (Yellow) - A loud and aggressive character which adds volume as well as gain and bite.

Blue LED (Blue) - Extremely distorted and high gain in character, this is full-on and in your face. You could say it goes to 11...

Built around NOS Toshiba 2SC2240 transistors, with sturdy Alpha pots and that addictive NOS germanium diode, the Red Noise Stone Blender screams quality and tonal authority.

De-Clip

The innovative De-Clip control adjusts the tonal balance and presence of the mids, enabling you to get your sound sitting perfectly in a busy recording or live scenario - alleviate those mid-scoop issues once and for all!

It can help you increase pick attack, and works wonders with bass guitar (Founder Ariel is a bassist and this pedal is more than capable of some 4-string thunder!).

Features:

  • Based on the MKIV Sola Sound Tone Bender
  • 4-way diode selection (1N60, 1N4148, Yellow LED, Blue LED)

STOMPNORTH Fishmoth Vintage Fuzztoner

£180.00

Silicon Fuzz Face with Extras...

Stompnorth's Fishmoth Vintage Fuzztoner is based on the classic silicon Fuzz Face circuit popularised by artists such as Jimi Hendrix and David Gilmour.

A/B Toggle

The A/B toggle switches between bright and normal frequency response, enabling you to easily dial in a sound for either humbuckers or single-coils.

Bias

The Bias control enables you to adjust the response of the pedal, from a gated, dying battery character when turned anti-clockwise, to regular at around 12 'o'clock, and full sustain and body when turned clockwise.

If you love the Fuzz Face sound (and let's be honest, who doesn't?!), the Fishmoth Vintage Fuzztoner is the pedal for you.

Features:

  • Based on the silicon Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face
  • High quality, low-noise components
  • Additional features include Bias and tone response
