Greenhouse Effects Pedals Collection | Boost Guitar Pedals

Greenhouse Effects

Greenhouse Effects was founded in 2004 and has since built up an envious range of innovative guitar pedals with eye-catching artwork.

Founder Roy Zichri has been in high demand, not just for his own range of pedals but as a successful designer of PCB layouts for the likes of Darkglass Electronics, JHS and Wren & Cuff.

Designed to "inspire creativity and help connect musicians to their instruments", Roy makes a point of adding plenty of features to his analogue pedals, such as the 3 gain stages and active EQ of the Outlier Overdrive, and the modulation effects of the Deity Reverb.

In 2011, Dweezil Zappa - an endorsed Greenhouse Effects artist - played one of Jimi Hendrix's Stratocasters on the Tonight Show with Alice Cooper using Greenhouse Effects pedals.

In 2021, Greenhouse Effects released a new range of Roots pedals with stripped back features but using the innovative DSS system, aimed at the sub-£100 market.

GREENHOUSE EFFECTS Roots Fuzz

£79.00

Superb Value Dual-Channel Fuzz...

The Greenhouse Effects Roots Fuzz is the latest fuzz pedal from the Israel-based brand. The first in the new Roots range, its budget-conscious design forsakes the innovation and versatility of the flagship pedals for back-to-basics functionality with a twist...

DSS Switching

The Roots Fuzz is a dual-channel fuzz, using DSS (Dual Switching System) to access two separate channels as well as turn the effect on and off, with just one footswitch.

Loosely based on the Big Muff, the Roots Fuzz is an aggressive sounding pedal, with each channel having a distinctive voice:

Red Channel

More open sounding, smoother, with more headroom and a hint of upper octave at maximum gain.

Blue Channel

Darker, denser and more compressed, with plenty of sustain and bloom.

Tone Control

The Tone control is useable right through the range - Roy recommends trying it with the tone turned completely down.

Sustain Control

The Sustain control takes you from medium gain settings through to heavy distortion and then a wall of fuzz

Features:

  • Great value Big Muff-style fuzz pedal
  • Innovative DSS footswitch with dual-channel feature
  • Soft touch, silent switching
  • Volume, Tone & Sustain controls
  • Power: 9V power adaptor, centre-negative (not included)

    GREENHOUSE EFFECTS Roots Echo

    £79.00

Superb Value Delay With Self-Oscillation Mode...

The Greenhouse Effects Roots Echo is a superb value analogue-style delay. Its delay time of up to 500ms takes you from straightforward slapback to ambient soundtracks with a near-endless trail of warm, lush repeats.

Back-to-basics functionality makes the Roots Echo a dream to use, but it gives a nod to the future with its innovative switching...

    DSS Switching

The Roots Echo features DSS (Dual Switching System), which allows you to hold down the footswitch to activate the self-oscillation mode for some great ambient sounds. Release the footswitch and the self-oscillations gradually die out.

    Delay

The Delay control adjusts the delay time, up to 500ms.

    Regen

The Regen control adjusts the number of times your original signal is repeated. Each repeat degrades in fidelity, just like it would with an analogue delay.

    Mix

Adjust the dry to wet signal ratio with the Mix control. You can set the Mix high for a more upfront delay, or set it lower for a more subtle effect.

    Features:

    • Great value analogue-style delay pedal
    • 500ms max delay time
    • Innovative DSS footswitch with self-oscillation feature
    • Soft touch, silent switching
    • Delay, Regen & Mix controls
    • Power: 9V power adaptor, centre-negative (not included)

    • Silicon & NOS germanium transistors
    • Health control replicates 'dying battery' effect
    • True bypass
    • Volume, Health & Fuzz controls
    • Power: 9V power adaptor, centre-negative (not included)

GREENHOUSE EFFECTS Universalis Special Edition Sludge Hammer

    £150.00

    Time to Downtune...

The Greenhouse Effects Universalis Special Edition Sludge Hammer fuzz is the result of a collaboration with Doom/Stoner band Celestial Season to commemorate 25 years of the Dutch band's Solar Lovers album.

The pedal is switchable from the classic Solar Lovers style (recorded with transistor amps, graphic equalisers and Boss Metal Zones) to the modern tone of the latest album, The Secret Teachings.

The gain (Soul control) goes from crunchy to a thick wall of fuzzy distortion, while the tone (Mind control) is wide ranging, allowing you to dial in enough bite to cut through the mix - or dial out the bite if you prefer a woolier, heavier sound.

The Body control works interactively with the Mind control to adjust the thickness of your sound, altering the response of the important low-mid frequency range.

    Features:

    • Op-amp fuzz pedal tuned for Stoner Metal, Doom and Sludge
    • Limited Edition collaboration with Celestial Season
    • Ships with unique keyring
    • True Bypass
    • Life, Soul, Mind, Body, & Solar/Lunar toggle controls
    • Ships with limited edition keyring
    • Power: 9V power adaptor, centre-negative (not included)

    GREENHOUSE EFFECTS Outlier

    £158.00

    Cranked Tube Tones...

The Greenhouse Effects Outlier is a wide-ranging, harmonically rich overdrive/distortion pedal designed to emulate a cooking tube amp.

Combining 3 cascading gain stages (2x Op-Amp & 1x FET) in a complex circuit enables all levels of drive to be covered in a single pedal, from boosty overdrive and mild crunch to soaring high gain.

The active EQ allows far more tone-shaping possibilities than a passive design, and the Bass & Treble controls are very interactive with each other.

The input and output stages feature buffers to condition your guitar signal for optimum integrity.

    Features:

    • Volume, Gain, Bass, Treble & DIS/OD controls
    • 3 cascading gain stages
    • Active EQ
    • True bypass
    • Input and output buffers
    • Power: 9V power adaptor, centre-negative (not included)

    GREENHOUSE EFFECTS Deity Reverb

    £158.00

    Multi-Mode Reverb...

The Greenhouse Effects Deity reverb is an ambient effect pedal like no other. Choose from either true bypass or buffered signal with trails, as well as 3 different reverb modes (Natural, Sentient & Ethereal).

The Natural mode is a room/hall-type reverb with controls for Decay, Tone, Pre Delay & Mix. Turn the Decay control fully clockwise and the reverb begins to oscillate to create a rotating room effect. This can be adjusted using the Tone control.

Sentient mode is an immersive reverb with dynamic modulation, combining tremolo and filter effects which can be adjusted using the Depth/LFO & Sensitivity/Rate controls.

Ethereal mode is a lush reverb with high and low octaves which can be blended in independently using the Octave Down & Octave Up controls.

    Features:

    • Decay, Tone/Depth/Octave Down, Pre Delay/Sensitivity/Octave Up, Mix & Mode controls.
    • Select between true bypass or buffered with trails modes
    • Multi-talented reverb with three modes
    • Power: 9V power adaptor, centre-negative (not included)

    GREENHOUSE EFFECTS Drifter

    £158.00

    Multi-Mode Tremolo...

The Greenhouse Effects Drifter Tremolo is a powerful device for shaping your sound, from classic warble to funked-out carnage.

Combining analogue circuitry with digital controls, it includes 7 waveform options and 3 switchable modes with footswitch functions:

    Waveforms

The 7 waveform options are: Triangle, Square, Sawtooth, Sine, Reverse Sawtooth, Pulse, Random.

    Drift mode

Causes the tremolo rate to increase when you hold the footswitch down, gradually decreasing upon release. Use the Time control to adjust the spool-up rate for the perfect response. A great effect to have under your foot!

    Slide mode

Increases the Depth when the footswitch is held down, and thanks to the 7-way Wave control there are tons of possibilities when it comes to utilising this effect. Try using square-wave or pulse settings for synth-like sounds.

    Save mode

Allows you to save a sound and recall it later. It's fully adjustable but you can revert back to the saved version at any point. Perfect for the gigging musicians out there!

    Time mode

A secret mode that you can access by pressing the footswitch for 2 seconds when the pedal is turned off. Control the ramping time of the Drift and Slide modes using the Rate control.

    Features:

    • Analogue tremolo circuit with digital controls
    • True bypass
    • Rate, Volume, Wave, Depth & Mode controls
    • Power: 9V power adaptor, centre-negative (not included)

    GREENHOUSE EFFECTS Logos Chorus-Vibrato

    £158.00

    Modulation Powerhouse...

The Greenhouse Effects Logos Chorus-Vibrato is a cleverly designed and beautifully executed modulation powerhouse with 3 chorus modes plus a classic vibrato effect accessed by turning the Mix knob to 100%.

What's more, an expression pedal input makes the Greenhouse Effects Logos even more controllable and versatile on the stage.

If a wealth of chorus is what you are after, the Logos has it: pitch shifting, multiple voices, LFO, feedback, envelope detection, waveforms, distortion and even reverb are blended together and rearranged to make 48 different combinations of incredible modulation.

The pedal's party trick is its "Logos" mode, which is a chorus with an LFO featuring various pitch interval settings and added reverb. As Roy at Greenhouse Effects says, "it feels like an organ player is playing along with you in a large hall!"

    The 3 Chorus Modes:

    1. Order Mode: Classic chorus with up to 8 cascading voices, normal to extreme depth, DSS: Max Depth for noisy chaos. Hidden feature: Automated rate.
    2. Chaos Mode: 8 chaotic modes of pitch modulation, envelope LFO, waveforms and double voice. DSS: Max Depth
    3. Logos Mode: Beautiful, dreamy chorus with 8 combinations of modulated intervals, octave up/down, 5th intervals, and flanger-like modulation at lower settings. This setting includes a hall-style reverb for added angelic ambience. DSS: Max Depth for noisy chaos. Hidden feature: LFO off.

    DSS Switching

One genius implementation is the DSS (Dual Switching System) , which gives you access to secondary functions in each mode when you hold down the footswitch for more than 200ms. There are also "hidden" features for each mode, accessed by maxing out the Rate control.

The Logos is another example of the great work Greenhouse Effects has been doing combining analogue circuitry with digital controls. Sit down with this for a weekend and explore all the sounds it has to offer - there's a lot to discover!

    Features:

    • Multi-mode chorus pedal with vibrato setting
    • Unique "Logos" mode
    • Mod, Depth, Rate/Sens/Pitch & Mix controls
    • True bypass
    • Power: 9V power adaptor, centre-negative (not included)
