About the FREDRIC EFFECTS Utility Perkolator MkII

The Fredric Effects Utility Perkolator MkII is a heavily modded version of the 1970s Interfax Harmonic Percolator, giving you access to all sorts of overdriven, fuzz-stortion, octave fuzz and ring mod sounds.

The Utility Perkolator MkII features higher gain, lower leakage Russian germanium transistors and a low pass filter which only removes the high-end hisses and glitches associated with the original Harmonic Percolator. The result is a tighter and more controllable effect which is still capable of producing the classic Harmonic Percolator sound but with a much lower noise floor.

Internal dipswitches allow you to remove the low pass filter from the circuit if you prefer a more vintage-correct sound from the Utility Perkolator MkII.

Crank it up and listen as the germanium transistors fold under the pressure and get almost square-wavey, opening the door for some serious fuzz fun!

Oh, and that wedge enclosure looks incredible, doesn't it!

    Clipping

Select from either germanium or silicon clipping diodes, or remove the clipping section from the circuit with the toggle in the middle position for a volume boost and a sustaining but less distorted character.

    Ring Modulation

The Utility Perkolator MkII includes a ring modulation mode, allowing to to achieve splattery, octave-like sounds and other trippy effects.
