About the SIGNAL CHEYNE Nitro Drive Mk2
The Signal Cheyne Nitro Drive Mk2 is an all-in-one boost/overdrive/distortion pedal handmade in France.
It is best used as an "always on" pedal and has plenty of volume on tap, and plenty of headroom too - you can run it from 9V to 18V.
Nitro Drive Mk2 Settings
Run the Volume high and the Gain & Sat controls low to use it as a boost into your favourite amp. It has a slight mid push which helps cut through the mix.
Set the Sat control higher and the gain control lower for a really dynamic overdrive, perfect for pushing another drive pedal or your amp.
Turn the Gain control up and keep the Sat lower for a tight distortion sound, still retaining dynamics but with plenty of girth.
Turning the Sat up adds more saturation for a rich, harmonic and organic sound.
Nitro Drive Mk2 Controls
The Sat control adjusts the first gain stage. Use it to drive and saturate the second gain stage ("Gain") - or not, if you prefer a lighter touch.
The Gain control adjusts the overall level of gain.
The Tone control works in conjunction with an internal voice trimmer, allowing you to dial in your perfect sound. An improvement on the Mk1 is that the Tone control no longer cuts out everything from the upper mids to the highs at darker settings, making for a clearer sound.
