The Welsh Guitar Show, Sŵn and Tomorrow's Ghosts: Music events to enjoy this October

The nights are getting longer and the weather is cooler, but that doesn't mean the fun has to stop... right?

This October still has a bunch of great guitar-related events to keep us guitar players busy! Here's a rundown of some of our top picks for October 2026.

The Welsh Guitar Show – Cardiff, UK

18th October 2026

If you took the time to visit the Wiltshire Guitar Show last month, this one will certainly be of interest to you. Brought to you by the same organisers, this is the first Welsh Guitar Show. It takes place at Cardiff West Community High School on Sunday 18th October.

Much like last month's show, you get a stacked roster of exhibitors and a live stage featuring appearances, lessons and product demos.

Sŵn Festival – Cardiff, UK

15–17th October 2026

For three days in October, venues across Cardiff will host Sŵn Festival. The festival has been part of Cardiff's music culture since 2007, showcasing a diverse range of talent, from up-and-coming local bands to touring stars.

Sister event Sŵn Connect runs alongside the performances. This music industry conference provides support and guidance for emerging artists looking to break into the industry.

If you're in the South Wales area and want to support the next generation of homegrown talent, this weekend is worth a visit.

Tomorrow's Ghosts Festival – Whitby, UK

30–31st October 2026

What better way to mark Halloween than by visiting Whitby for a jam-packed weekend of Gothic and Alternative Rock at Tomorrow's Ghosts Festival? This year sees both nights headlined by The Mission, who are playing some very special 40th-anniversary sets.

If two sets from The Mission aren't enough to satisfy you, there is also a special set from Lol Tolhurst, co-founder of The Cure. He will be taking to the stage to play a selection of The Cure's classics.

If you're looking for a more chilled-out activity, head over to Whitby Pavilion on the afternoon of 31st October to catch him in conversation, including an audience Q&A. Hear some stories straight from a musical hero who was there at the beginning of it all.
