Boost Guitar Pedals uses Royal Mail for all domestic deliveries and UPS for international deliveries.

UPDATE – As of 13th December 2024, we are
regrettably no longer able to ship to customers located within the EU or Northern Ireland, due to new GPSR regulations which make it prohibitively expensive for small businesses to operate in the zone.

UPDATE 2 – As of 10th April 2025, we are still shipping to the USA. Please note that due to the volatile political situation relating to tariffs, we may have to cease offering shipping here at short notice.

We offer free 24-hour tracked UK delivery on all orders over £150! Order before 9pm for next-working-day dispatch.

We offer 30-day hassle-free returns so you can pick the item you want safe in the knowledge that if it's not for you, we'll take it back and refund your order.

International deliveries are subject to additional import duties and VAT at your local rate. These charges are payable to the courier at time of delivery. Calculate how much you will need to pay here.

Please note that some orders may take longer to be processed before shipping during the busiest periods of the year.

    Returns policy

Customers hold the right to return a product for a full refund if I am notified within 30 days of delivery.

If a product is delivered in a defective or damaged condition, please contact me immediately with details of your order.

To be eligible for a return, the item must be in the same condition
that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Please note, the cost of return delivery is to be paid by the customer. This will be reimbursed if the item is shown to be faulty.

To complete a return, I require a receipt or proof of purchase. Please do not send any items back to the manufacturer, and please do not send any items to me without contacting me first.

Once I have confirmed that I will process your return, please send the item to:

    Shipping

The customer is responsible for paying return shipping costs. Shipping costs are non-refundable unless a product is proven to be damaged or faulty upon delivery.

It is recommended that items should be returned using a trackable shipping service in case the item goes missing en route.

About the LICHTLAERM AUDIO Altar MKIII Doom / Sludge Fuzz

The newest version of Lichtlaerm Audio's earth-shattering Altar fuzz consists of a high output clean boost and a high-gain fuzz/distortion circuit with added chainsaw magic for a truly exceptional array of sounds. Oh, and don't overlook the internal "DOOM" switch!

Loosely based on the Black Russian Big Muff, the Altar MKIII is the perfect weapon for everything from Gilmourish sounds to fat Doom and Stoner riffing.

While earlier versions of the Altar aimed to please both guitar and bass players alike, Lichtlaerm decided after some feedback to release updated versions for each instrument, and this guitar version is the first to be released.

    Altar MKIII controls

The active 3-band EQ features 3 perfectly voiced frequency bands, each with +/-18dB cut and boost. It's incredibly powerful for sculpting your tone but can also achieve some crazy sounds at extreme settings!

The Depth mini-pot varies the saturation character from a tight response to a full on sludgy fuzz, for ultimate control over your sound: dial in a classic scooped Muff-type sound or a mid-forward fuzzstortion that will cut through any mix.

The new, proprietary Comp mini-pot completely transforms the sound of the Altar MKIII from low-gain super-organic Germanium overdrive, to loud, aggressive LED-clipping distortion. Blend seamlessly between the different characters and adjust the saturation to your liking.

The Altar MKIII internally converts the 9V input voltage to 36V for maximum headroom and loudness: while some Muff-style fuzzes suffer from lower than ideal output, the Altar MKIII smashes its opponents into the dust.

The “DOOM” switch is an internal slider-switch which pushes all the gain stages into beast mode, changing the corner frequency of the drive-sections from a mid-heavy Sovtek style crunch to a battlehammer of doom that sends all frequencies through the clipping stages!

The independent Boost circuit adds adds up to +36dB of extra push to the front end of either your amp or the fuzz/distortion circuit, layering harmonic overtones over endless sustain, square wave sounds and a hint of glitchy octave.

Not gnarly enough? Turn up the Grind mini-pot to adjust the frequency response of the boost from an almost flat response to a bass & high-mids-heavy curve that emulates the frequency response of a fully cranked Boss HM2

The original Altar was the first ever Lichtlaerm Audio design and this third iteration is the most flexible yet - no matter if you want to play Pink Floyd, Bongripper or Entombed!

    About Lichtlaerm Audio

Lichtlaerm Audio is based in Germany, where owner Daniel and his small team harness endless creativity to produce some of the most exciting guitar pedals out there.

Founded in 2018, Daniel took a break from running his own business in 2021 when he joined KMA Machines in Berlin, but clearly he needed an outlet for all of his ideas and so he resurrected Lichtlaerm Audio in the summer of 2022.

In addition to an astounding range of guitar pedals, Lichtlaerm Audio have expanded into amps, cabinets and even a speaker, designed in collaboration with Fane.
